Wick is a small village just to the west of Downton in the south of Wiltshire, separated from the latter by the River Avon and the meadows which enfold its course. The villages are just downstream of Salisbury and close by the Hampshire border to the south.
The village is a mixture of old and new: the old hamlet survives in the form of older houses and cottages reaching out to Wick Farm on the west side, while newer housing has been developed, spurred by the position of the village just south of Salisbury
