West Deeping is a village in Kesteven, the south-western part of Lincolnshire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 255. It is on the A1175 road, five miles east of Stamford and two miles west of Market Deeping. It is the smallest of The Deepings group of villages[1] situated around the A1175 road.
The Roman Road of King Street passes through the village and crosses the A1175.
The church of St Andrew dates back to the 13th century, with further additions in 1676 and 1803 and a restoration in 1876-77, and is Early English, Decorated and Perpendicular Gothic in style.[2] It is part of The Uffington Group of the Deanery of Stamford, in the Diocese of Lincoln.[3][4]
The village public house is the Red Lion.
