Throapham is a hamlet in the West Riding of Yorkshire, on the northern edge of Dinnington. It forms part of teh wapentake of Strafforth and Tickhill.

Throapham originates as a township in the ancient parish of Laughton en le Morthen. St John's parish church, a Grade-I listed building, [1] was in the neighbouring parish-town of St John's, a very small place, and the two places formed a single township, also known as St Johns with Throapham.[2] Between 1866 and 1954, St Johns with Throapham was a civil parish, after which it was merged with the civil parish of Dinnington to form the new civil parish of Dinnington St John's.[3]
