Coverdale

Coverdale, within the North Riding of Yorkshire, is a dale in the easternmost part of the famous Yorkshire Dales, carved by the River Cover as it runs down to join the River Ure in its own dale, Wensleydale.

The head of Coverdale is at a pass, known as Park Rash Pass, between Great Whernside and Buckden Pike. From here, the dale runs north-east to join the eastern end of Wensleydale by the hamlet of Coverbridge. (Read more)
