Tau Islands
The Tau Islands are a group of three islands with off-lying rocks which lie immediately off the north-eastern extremity of Eta Island amongst the Melchior Islands, the latter a cluster of islands between Anvers Island and Brabant Island amongst the larger Palmer Archipelago west of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.
These islands were charted by the Argentine Antarctic Expedition, 1942-43, and named Islotes Tau after the nineteenth letter in the Greek alphabet, in association with the names of other islands in the main group. The islands were photographed from the air by the United States Navy in the 1968-69 season.
