Stickford is a village in Lindsey, the northern part of Lincolnshire, sitting close by the A16 road about six miles south-west of the town of Spilsby.
Stickford is first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Stichesforde. The name is believed to mean exactly which it seems to be: 'stick ford'. Nearby is a similarly named village, Stickney.
The parish church, St Helen, dates from the 13th century although it has been much restored. It is a Grade II* listed building.[1]
Shaws Windmill is a three-storey red-brick tower mill dating from 1820, which ceased working in 1952, and is now Grade II listed.[2][3]
