Staunton on Arrow is a little village and parish in Herefordshire, on the River Arrow just north-west and upstream of Pembridge. As well as Staunton on Arrow itself, the parish also includes the hamlets of Staunton Green and Stansbatch. The main village and parish church lie in Stretford Hundred, although the majority of the parish and other settlements lie in Wigmore Hundred.
The parish church is the Grade-II*-listed St Peter's. The original mediæval church was demolished in 1853 to allow the building of a new Gothic Revival church that was deemed “more appropriate” by James King-King of Staunton Park. Finished in 1860 in classic Victorian Neo-Gothic style it enjoys an imposing position, and looks much bigger than in fact it is.
The Rowe Ditch, an ancient defensive earthwork, passes to the east of the village closer to Pembridge.
West of Staunton the hills begin to rise steeply until the bounds of Radnorshire, two and a half miles from the village. The closest town to Staunton is Presteigne in the latter county.
