Stanley Common is a village in the south-east of Derbyshire, on the A609 main road between Ilkeston and Derby. It shares a civil parish with its parent village, Stanley which is found a mile or so to the south.
Of the two villages, Stanley Common has the larger population. The parish also incorporates Smalley Common, once an outgrowth of the neighbouring village of Smalley.
