St Ives is a village in Hampshire, in the south-west of the county, west of Ringwood (from which it is separated by the River Avon). It is effectively all of a piece with St Leonards to the west and Ashley Heath to the north-west. This small conurbation of villages is close to Hampshire's border with Dorset (here marked by the Moors River, across which is Ferndown).

The parish of St Leonards and St Ives had a recorded population of 6,672 in 2001, of whom 41.6% were retired.

About the village

Avon Castle

St Ives has a shop and post office, a doctor's surgery, an ex-services club and two public houses.

A youth club is based in Braeside Park, St Leonards, next to the scout hut and the village hall.

To the north of St Ives lies the Moors Valley Country Park, which has many attractions such as train rides, cycle tracks, a fishing lake and a café. To the south is Avon Heath Country Park which has a large visitor centre, play park and picnic area. To the east of the park, by the River Avon, is Avon Castle, a country house built about 1872 and now divided into apartments.
