The Shackleton Falls are a waterfall on South Georgia, at the head of Shackleton Valley, in the Busen Region of the island: an area of ice free land midway along the north coast.
The waterfall is named in association with the Shackleton Valley, which is in turn named for Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton (1874-1922), the Antarctic explorer, whose epic traverse of South Georgia in May 1916, following his boat journey from Elephant Island, ended in this valley when he made contact with Thoralf Sørlle, manager at Stromness whaling station.
