The Rhaeadr near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant

The River Rhaeadr is a river that forms the county border between Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire for its entire length..

It starts at the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall a few miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, where the Afon Disgynfa falls over a 240-foot cliff face, after which the river is known as the Rhaeadr. It inherits the role of the border river from the Disgynfa.

Downstream, the Rhaeadr runs into the River Tanat at Aber Rhaeadr.
