Pickwick Island is the largest of the Pitt Islands, a group within the Biscoe Islands group in the British Antarctic Territory. The island is six miles long in southwest–northeast direction, and is separated from Renaud Island on the south-west by a broad sound.
The island was charted following air photography by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition in 1956.
The islands of the Pitt Islands are named after characters in the Pickwick Papers, by Charles Dickens. As this is the largest of the islands, it is names after Samuel Pickwick himself, Founder and Chairman of the Pickwick Club.
