Penberth is a valley, coastal village and cove on the Penwith peninsula in far western Cornwall. It is approximately seven miles southwest of Penzance. The Penberth river flows down the valley in which the village sits.
Penberth Cove once had a busy pilchard fishing industry[1] and is one of the last remaining traditional fishing coves in Cornwall, with a handful of local fishermen still making their living from fishing for mackerel, lobster and crab.
There was also a cut flower industry, the produce being sent to London by train from Penzance.[1]
