Old Courthouse is a small building on Harbour Road in the village of Howth, County Dublin.
It is not a grand building and was not built as a place of judgment but as a fishermen's chapel. It stands halfway along the promenade in the village, overlooking the sea, the marina and yacht club. It is a detached four-bay single-storey building with a projecting entrance porch to west gable. Today it is jollily painted.
The building is of the nineteenth century and originally served as a place of worship for fishermen. Later it was used as rent collection office by Lord Howth's agents, but by 1870 it served as local courthouse.
The Old Courthouse is today in the hands of An Taisce, who received it from the Dublin Corporation. It plays host to numerous local events throughout the year, from book sales to art exhibitions.
