The Ogwen Falls are a beautiful waterfall on the River Ogwen in Caernarfonshire, where the waters newly emerged from Llyn Ogwen tumble out into the valley.
Llyn Ogwen is a like lying within Snowdonia, caught between Tryfan (3,009 feet) to the south and Pen yr Ole Wen (3,209 feet) to the north, and the river escaping from the lake is constricted between the two, escaping to cascade down ot the broader valley.
This is a popular spot for a picnic: the main A5 road between Betws-y-Coed and Caernarfon crosses the head of valley at this point and parking is provided for visitors.
