New Tredegar is a former mining community and parish in western Monmouthshire. As a parish it extends into Glamorgan and includes Tredegar itself as well as Brithdir and Tir-Phil (both in Glamorgan)
The area is rich in the mining heritage of the South Wales coalfield. New Tredegar is home to The Winding House, a museum which opened in 2008.
