Mynyddislwyn is an ancient parish in the hundred of Wentloog in west Monmouthshire. It covers a large part of the lower Ebbw and Sirhowy Valleys. It lies adjacent to Bedwellty which covers the upper part of the valleys.[1] The parish encompasses the area from Pen Twyn in the north as far as the River Sirhowy in the south.
It has a population of 36,917 in the following towns and villages:
- Abercarn
- Pontllanfraith
- Crumlin (on the boundary of Llanhilleth Ph.)
- Cwmfelinfach
- Newbridge
- Oakdale
- Penmain
- Wattsville
- Ynysddu
