Middlethorpe is a hamlet in the West Riding of Yorkshire, two miles due south of the center of the county town, York, barely escaped from the clutches of its growing townscape. Middlethorpe stands on the west side of the River Ouse.
Middlethorpe Hall dates from 1699[1] and Middlethorpe Manor from about 1700.[2]
