Loch More is a freshwater loch in the west of Sutherland; a ribbon of water stretching some four miles north-west to south-east. Its name is simply Gaelic for 'Great Loch'.
At the north-west end of the loch is a connected loch, Loch nan Ealachan ('Lake of the Swans'), which at most states of the water is one with Loch More: a path runs between them but is carried by stepping stones.
No village stands beside the loch apart from the hamlet, Achfary, on the shore of Loch nan Ealachan, and a few cottages and a lodge.
A 'Corbett' mountain, Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhughaill (2,628 feet) stand to the north-east side. Ben Stack stands beyond its north-west end.
