Lindeth Tower is a Victorian folly by the shore overlooking Morecambe Bay at Silverdale in Lancashire. It is in form an embattled square tower of three storeys. The tower was built in 1842 for the Preston banker Hesketh Fleetwood.
Elizabeth Gaskell stayed in the tower in the 1840s and 1850s and her novel Ruth was written there.[1]
Today, Lindeth Tower is a Grade II listed building.[2]
