Knockando is a village in Morayshire on the north bank of the River Spey, and running up the Knockado Burn to Upper Knockando.
The famous Knockando Distillery is in Upper Knockando, producing single malt whisky.
The village was once on the railway, and the station buildings remain, but the track is now lifted and the course uses for the Speyside Way long distance footpath.
Knockando Kirk
The parish church is known in full as 'Knockando, Elchies & Archiestown Parish Church', but usually as 'Knockando Kirk'. It is a most unusual church: a modern design, built in 1993 to replace its predecessor which had been erected in 1757 but destroyed by fire in 1990.
