King Water is a river in the north of Cumberland. It begins in the Spadeadam Forest close to the border with Northumberland in a number of streams off the hills and runs down though the sparsely populated Parish of Kingwater, and onward in a west-south-westerly course.
The line of Hadrian's Wall crosses the King Water to the east of the village of Walton. It discharges into the River Irthing less than a mile south of Walton.
Fishing
The Brampton Angling Association has a long term let from the Earl of Carlisle for fishing rights on a portion of the River Irthing and part of the King Water.
