King Point, Joinville Island

King Point is a headland forming the north-west entrance point of Ambush Bay, on the coast of Joinville Island, an island off the Trinity Peninsula at Graham Land's north-eastern tip, within the British Antarctic Territory.

The headland was roughly charted by James Ross on 30 December 1842, and named 'Cape King' after Captain (later Rear-Admiral) Philip Parker King of ther Royal Navy (1793-1856), a naval surveyor who made notable improvements to the charts of Australia and South America.

Following a survey by FIDS from Hope Bay in December 1953, the feature was renamed 'King Point'.
