Kilmuir Easter

Kilmuir Easter is a parish six miles south-west from Tain in Ross-shire. The parish also encompasses two detached parts of Cromartyshire, the entirety of No. 8 and the western half of No. 9. The parish contains the villages of Kilmuir, Milton, Kildary in the Cromartyshire portion and Barbaraville, mostly in the Ross-shire portion.
This place, which is situated on the shore of the Cromarty Firth, derives its name from the dedication of its ancient church to St Mary, and the adjunct by which it is distinguished, from its relative position with reference to the parish of Kilmuir Wester. It is about 10 miles in its greatest length, and four miles broad. It is bounded on the west by the parish of Rosskeen, on the east by Logie Easter, on the north by Edderton and on the south, by the sands of Nigg, and the Cromarty Firth.
