Logie Easter
Logie Easter is a parish five miles south-west of Tain in Ross-shire. Part of the No. 9 detached part of Cromartyshire (otherwise in the parish of Kilmuir Easter) separates the Ross-shire portion in two. The name of Logie, so frequently applied to designate Scottish parishes, is derived from the Gaelic word laggie, which signifies a "hollow," and is used in the present instance in reference to the site of the first church, the ruins of which are still to be seen. The church is situated on Chapel hill in the Ross-shire portion.
The main A9 road passes through the south of the parish, as does the Far North railway line from Inverness to Thurso and Wick. The nearest railway station is situated at Fearn just to the east of the parish boundary.
