Kingskettle

Kettle is a parish in central Fife. It lies partly in the Howe of Fife and partly on the hills to the south. It is bounded on the north by Collessie and Cults; to the east by Scoonie; to the south be Kennoway and Markinch; and to the west by Falkland. A very small salient of Strathmiglo adjoins to the north-west.

Settlements in the parish include Kettlebridge, Kingskettle, Kettlehill, Balmalcom and Coaltown of Burnturk. Kettle had a population of 1,645 in 2011.

The Edinburgh and Northern Railway passes through the parish, although the station at Kingskettle closed in 1967. The nearest station is now at Ladybank just to the north. The A914 road branches off from the A92 just to the south-west of the parish and passes through north-easterly en route to Cupar.
