Heroína Island is one of the Danger Islands, a cluster of islets off Joinville Island, off the northern tip of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.
This is the north-easternmost of Danger Islands. It was named Islote Ercilla by the Chilean Antarctic Expedition after Alonso de Ercilla y Zúñiga (1533-94), Spanish author of 'La Araucana' (1569), in which work Antarctica is mentioned. It was then called Islote Heroína by the Argentine Antarctic Expedition of 1948-49, after the expedition ship, Heroína, and the current name is taken from that. It also appears as 'Heroine Island'.
