Darwin Island is one of the Danger Islands, a cluster of islets off Joinville Island, off the northern tip of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.
This is the largest of the Danger Islands. It was roughly charted by Ross, 29 December 1842, and named after Charles Robert Darwin (1809-82), naturalist; author of 'The Origin of Species' (1859). The island was surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 'Hope Bay', 1953-54 and 1958-61.
