Heads Nook is a village Cumberland, inland, six miles east of Carlisle. It is just under two miles east of the broad lower course of the River Eden, where Great Corby, the nearest village of any size, faces Wetheral. The village was formerly served by Heads Nook railway station.
Nearby places include the city of Carlisle and closer to are such villages as Great Corby, Warwick Bridge and Fenton and hamlets including Broadwath and Allenwood.
