The Granite Way is a mainly traffic-free cycle/walkway running eleven miles between Okehampton and Lydford in the west of Devon, following the track of the old Okehampton to Tavistock railway, now long since dismantled. It is part of the National Cycle Route 27; the 'Devon Coast to Coast' between Ilfracombe and Plymouth.
Much of the Way is within Dartmoor National Park. The route passes near Okehampton Castle, then to the Meldon Viaduct (with views up to Yes Tor and High Willhays, the highest peaks in Dartmoor (without troubling the rider’s calves to climb them) and on to Lydford Gorge.
