Goytre is an ancient parish in the hundred of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. It is situated some seven miles south of Abergavenny itself. To the north lie Llanover and Llanvair Kilgeddin. To the east lies Kemeys Commander and to the south-west Mamhilad. The historical extra-parochical place of Monk's Wood lies to the south.

The parish contains the hamlet of Nant-y-derry, where the parish church St Peter's is situated. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal passes through Goytre, where there is a popular wharf and visitor centre. It is built on the site of an old lime kiln, complete with interactive sculptures. The Llanover private estate owns the surrounding land. Goytre has a Fish and Chip shop, a pub, a convenience store and a Post Office.
