Gore End is a village in the very north of Hampshire, at a bridge on the River Enborne, which here marks the border of Berkshire to the north. Immediately to the south is Ball Hill, while the nearest Hampshire village of any size is Woolton Hill a mile and half to the south.
Across the bridge n Berkshire is a little hamlet known as Holtwood.
The village is amongst the Hampshire Downs, in the 'North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', on the Hampshire-Berkshire border. Its nearest town is Newbury in the latter county, which is four miles north-east of Gore End.
