Glendun

Glendun is one of the nine Glens of Antrim, in County Antrim. It is the northernmost of those glens which stretch down to Antrim's east coast; two more lead to the north coast.
The village of Cushendun and the hamlet of Knocknacarry both stand at the foot of the glen. Glencorp meets it from the south, connecting Glendun with Glenaan to the south at Cushendall.
Like all glens in that area, it was shaped during the Ice Age by glaciers.
The glen is named after the peaty brown colour of the River Dun which flows down through the glen from the peat bogs of the hills.
