Finavon Doocot stands on the south bank of the River South Esk, just across the A90 from Milton of Finavon in Angus (and six miles north-east of Forfar). It is close by Finavon Castle.

This is Scotland's largest dovecote, with 2,400 nesting boxes.

The Finavon Doocot is believed to have been built for the Earl of Crawford in the 16th Century to fill his larder. It was passed into the care of the National Trust for Scotland by the Angus Historic Buildings Society in 1993. It remains in the Trust's care.
