Embley is a small village in the west of Hampshire, a mile from the border of Wiltshire to the west. Its nearest town is Romsey, which stands three and a half miles east of Embley.
A famous 19th century resident was Florence Nightingale, who for much of her childhood was raised in the parish at her family's home Embley Park; though as a child she also often lived at the family's second home at Lea Hurst in Derbyshire.[1] Embley Park is now a school.
