East Ferry is an area in eastern County Cork, overlooking Cork Harbour. The area takes its name from a ferry which historically crossed the channel separating Garranekinnefeake promontory (close to Midleton) from Great Island (close to Cobh).[1][2] East Ferry is a residential village on the eastern side of this channel
The Anglican parish church is Holy Trinity church, a 19th-century church in the Church of Ireland, in the Diocese of Cork, Cloyne and Ross. It was designed by architect William Atkins.[3][4][5]
A coastguard station was also previously located in the area.[6][7]
East Ferry Marina, a commercial marina on the Western side of the channel, is in the Marlogue area of Great Island.[8] A sailing school, 'SailCork', operates from the marina.[1]
