Information |
The Cuningar Loop Pedestrian Footbridge is a modern pedestrian footbridge crossing the River Clyde in Glasgow.
The bridge was built in 2016 as part of the legacy projects from the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow in 2014, and it also ties in with the regeneration of the derelict industrial land of the Cuningar Loop, which lands have now been transformed into a country park.
For the Commonwealth Games, an Athletes' Village was built on the north bank for the Clyde in the Dalmarnock area; after the games this was transformed into the 'Legacy Village'. The new bridge joins the Legacy Village to the west side of the new Cuningar Loop Country Park. It also joins up with the Clyde Walkway and National Cycle Route 75 on the opposite bank).
