The Crookdale Beck

The Crookdale Beck is a minor stream in Westmorland, running off the Shap Fells in the centre of the county and carving a valley called Crookdale.

Beside the dale, Great Yarlside and Little Yarlside rise to the north-east and High House Fell to the southwest; the beck then turns east below Whatshaw Common and High House Bank before turning south around the latter and entering the Borrowdale Beck beside the A6 road.

Wainwright's Crookdale Horseshoe is a walking route up the dale and around the tops surrounding it.[1]
