Coleby is a hamlet in northerm Lincolnshire, in Lindsey and situated approximately seven miles north of Scunthorpe, and three miles south of the River Humber. It is within the parish of West Halton, a village a mile to the north-east.

Coleby pre-dates the Norman Conquest, its name derived from Old Norse meaning the "Koli's farmstead".[1]

Coleby has 28 dwellings including 3 farms: Eastdale Farm, Hall Farm and Manor Farm. The village has allotments,[2] but no shops or public houses, and its telephone box was removed in 2008.
