Cawkwell is a hamlet in Lindsey, the northern part of Lincolnshire. It is in the Lincolnshire Wolds about six miles south-west of the nearest small town, Louth.
Cawkwell is a reckoned 'deserted mediæval village', which is first mentioned in 1354.[1][2]
The parish church for the lost village was dedicated to St Peter. It was still standing in 1872 but had disappeared by 1924, with parts of it used to restore the church at Scamblesby.[1][2]
Cawkwell House is a Grade II listed building dating from 1825 and built of brick with a slate roof.[3]
