Information |
Cambuskenneth Bridge is a footbridge across the River Forth downstream of Stirling, running from Cambuskenneth in Perthshire across to the Stirlingshire bank of the river in the Riverside area of Stirling. It provides an easy access to the town.
Cambuskenneth is a small village caught within a loop of the Forth and largely isolated, joined to the rest of the land by a single, narrow road running northwards, and since 1935 by the footbridge, which was built to reduce this isolation, though Cambuskenneth's small size would not justify a road bridge.
The bridge was built in 1935, replacing the ancient Cambuskenneth Ferry.[1]
