Information

The Caledonian Railway Bridge is one of a pair of adjacent railway bridges crossing the River Forth in Stirling: the Caledonian carries the Stirling to Perth railway line while the North British downstream carries the line to Alloa and Dunfermline.

These are two of four bridges close by each other within the city crossing north over the Forth, with both ends of the bridges in Stirlingshire, the others being the Old Bridge and New Bridge upstream, The city's fifth Forth bridge is the Cambuskenneth Bridge, a footbridge further downstream.

This bridge replaced an earlier wooden version built by the Scottish Central Railway Compan
