Bowsden is a village in northern Northumberland, about six miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, inland from the North Sea coast at Lindisfarne. It has a recordfed population at the 2011 census of just 178.

Landmarks

The Devil's Causeway passes the village about a mile to the east. The causeway is a Roman road driven north of the Romans’ northern frontier: it starts at Port Gate on Hadrian's Wall, north of Corbridge, and extends 55 miles northwards across Northumberland to the mouth of the River Tweed at Berwick-upon-Tweed.
