Bondleigh is a village in the midst of Devon, on the River Taw, north of North Tawton. The 2001 census recorded a population of just 123 in the parish.
The village stands on both sides of the river. The Tarka Trail walking route passes through Bondleigh and across its bridge.
The village church, though 15th century, has traces of a Norman window above the chancel, as well as other Norman features: carved stones in the walls, the font and a tympanum. There are old bench-ends, and 15th century glass. In the churchyard is the shaft of its ancient cross, possibly once a megalith.
A mile to the north is the mediæval motte or ringwork known as Millsome Castle.
