Barton is a tiny village in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, on the upper stream of the River Windrush, near Naunton. Across the fields to the south-west and joined by a footpath is another small village, Guiting Power, while Temple Guiting is upstream, to the north.

The name 'Barton' is commonplace and means simply 'farmstead'. This village appears in written records as Berton as early as 1287.[1]
