Ashby by Partney is a hamlet in Lindsey, the northern part of Lincolnshire. It is to be found to the south of the A158 road and two miles east of the town of Spilsby. It neighbours the village of Partney, whence the distinguishing suffix of its name, there being many villages named 'Ashby' in Lincolnshire.
The village is recorded in the Domesday Book as consisting of 26 households, with Hugh d'Avranches, Earl of Chester as Lord of the Manor.[1]
The parish church, St Helen's, is of pale orange brick, It was built in 1841, on the site of an earlier church. C Hodgson Fowler restored the interior in 1892, retaining the 14th-century font. It is a Grade II listed building.[2]
