Lane End is a hamlet in Cumberland, close by the coast of the Irish Sea, just under two miles inland from the open sea, and a mile south of the broad tidal reach of the River Esk a sit meanders to the sea. It stands where the lane from the estuary reaches the A595 at Waberthwaite.
