Information |
The Elvanfoot Motorway Bridge in Lanarkshire was built in 1992 to carry the M74 motorway over the young River Clyde; built as part of the A74 improvement works that brought the motorway all the way from Carlisle down Clydesdale to Glasgow.
The bridge itself is a typical 1990s concrete bridge with steel beams built to D3M standards. It replaced the original Elvanfoot Bridge, which still carries the local road over the river immediately downstream beside the motorway bridge.
