The Clyde Bridge by Elvanfoot carries the West Coast Main Line up Clydesdale over the River Clyde to the south of Elvanfoot.
There was formerly a railway station at Elvanfoot, opened by the Caledonian Railway, on the main line at providing a junction for the branch to Wanlockhead.
