Arnold is a hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire, on the broad Holderness peninsula. It is to be found nine miles north of Kingston upon Hull city centre and six miles east of Beverley town centre. The A165 road by-passes the village to the east.
The name ‘Arnold’ derives from the Old English earn and halh, and meant ‘eagles’ nook of land.’[1]
